See the Lyngen Alps from Spåkenes

The mighty Lyngen Alps are a great sight from all angles. But the best angle might be from the Spåkenes peninsula. During the second world war the germans buildt a coastal fortress on the tip of the peninsula. The fortress was used to protect the bay of Kåfjord. And there were stationed several big artillery guns there. Nowdays there are just ruins and a magnificent view over the alps left. Spåkenes is open to vistiors and has two marked paths that present the history of the fort via drawings and fictional accounts based on real-life situations. Source: Wikipedia
